KNI Waltham Forest Borough Run was formed in memory of Kenneth Nicholas Ibrahim, a 27 year old sports enthusiast who died tragically in Thailand in May 2009. It is hosted by the KNI Foundation, a charity based in East London who use the money raised from the event to deliver unique sport and performing arts programmes, to individuals who are most in need and most at risk of social exclusion.
This half marathon prides itself on offering runners a friendly, community & family feel, whilst remaining professional. Kenneth's family and friends remain at the heart of the event, meaning that every part of the day is personal and emotionally led, however the professionalism, facilities & awards are never compromised!
One of the things that make this course so unique and memeorable are the sights that have been mapped out. The Waltham Forest Borough Run gives runners an insightful view of some amazing historical landmarks in a fantastic East London borough! Museums, art galleries and historic buildings are amongst the landmarks that give runners a warm welcome, as they race through Waltham Forest! I'm sure runners go away amazed at the borough's history with people like Alfred Hitchcock, the Krays and William Morris all having roots in the borough.
